FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. (KMOX) - Investigators say a Franklin County man has admitted to killing his father and then stealing his truck, motorcycle, and guns.

Sheriff Gary Toelke says family members found 57-year-old William Osborne Sr. shot to death in his home on Osborne Lane Thursday night.

“We also found out a short time late that the son had sold a handgun to a person in St. Clair,” Toelke explained. “We contacted them and St. Clair Police, Highway Patrol came out and started helping us look for the son. He was later found in Crescent Lake Village, which is in St. Clair.”

William Osborn Jr., 33, was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action Friday. His cash-only bond was set at $100,000.

Toelke says some of Osborne Sr.’s guns and his motorcycle are still missing. Police aren’t sure if they’ve been sold.

Toelke says there had been hard feelings between the father and son for a long time.
