ST. CLAIR, Mo. (AP) – A fat cat that drew international attention when its owner turned him over to a shelter is now living at a sanctuary for hard-to-place animals in eastern Missouri.

The cat, named Biscuit, weighed 37 pounds when he was taken to the St. Charles shelter. More than 110 people offered to adopt him before he was placed with a couple from Eureka earlier this month.

However, Biscuit fought with a cat at that home and the couple couldn’t keep him. On Saturday, Biscuit was turned over to The Shannon Foundation sanctuary for hard-to-place animals outside St. Clair in Franklin County. He’ll stay there permanently, living with about 75 other animals.
